ADVANCED PLACEMENT PROGRAM
TESTS 2023 – 2024

THE ADVANCED PLACEMENT PROGRAM® TESTS

The College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) Program® is known globally for its high academic standards. Since 1955, the AP® Program has allowed millions of high school students to take college-level courses and earn credit or advanced placement for their undergraduate degrees.

Almost all colleges and universities in the United States, and over 500 universities in 75 countries including the U.K., Canada, and Australia, view AP participation positively for admissions and have policies for AP credit and placement.

For more information visit College Board’s website:

AP benefits help motivated students like you:

  • Stand out in college admissions.
  • Earn college credits.
  • Skip introductory college classes.
  • Save money on tuition.
  • Build skills and confidence.
  • Earn higher first-year grades in college (according to research).

Here’s how students gain from the Advanced Placement Program:

Review AP course descriptions for the subjects you want to take to see which topics are covered in the course and what might be on the exam.

The 2024 AP Exams will take place in schools during two weeks in May: May 6–10 and May 13–17. It’s not allowed to take the exams early or at times other than those set by the College Board.

Our center doesn’t offer AP Exams that need extra equipment or have a course portfolio part (like language exams, Music Theory, Art and Design, Seminar, and Research).

AP Test Eligibility – 2024

To take AP Exams, you must be enrolled in or associated with a high school. You can qualify if you are:

1. Currently enrolled in high school.
2. Homeschooled, in independent study, or attending a virtual school at the high school level.
3. A student ready to take an AP Exam before 9th grade.
4. A recent high school graduate needing a specific AP Exam for college admission.

If you graduated from high school recently (typically within 1-3 years) and need an AP Exam for university admission in 2024, you don’t need special permission from the AP Program to take the test. If you’re unsure about your eligibility, please contact your test center coordinator.

Testing Policies

To take the test, students must have the required ID.

For AP-authorized test centers in India, additional ID policies apply:

  • Students must bring their original, valid passport to the AP Exam.
  • If the original passport is not available, students can use Aadhaar in either the original Letter format or the PVC version with hologram. Other versions of Aadhaar will not be accepted.
  • Accepted Aadhaar versions include: The letter version (the whole piece of paper, not just the card at the bottom).
  • The PVC card (with hologram).
  • It’s important to plan ahead for ID processing and applications. Only students with the required ID on exam day will be allowed to test. Those without the required ID will not be permitted to take the test.
